Mr Sumit Khandelwal, Director Operations MKU Ltd is heading the Armour Business Operations. As Chairman of MKU Limited, Mr Manoj Gupta is credited with turning his family owned multi-business organization into a world class conglomerate. Today, MKU business portfolio covers Personal Protection, Platform Protection and Electro Optics with a strong workforce of over 500 employees working across three manufacturing plants in India, one each in UAE and Germany, the company exports to more than 100+ countries.

Today he heads the ‘GKG Group’ a diverse and versatile group of companies with a vision to become large and global players. The group comprises of 8 manufacturing units which service sectors including Defence and Aerospace, Infrastructure and Construction

Mr Monoj Gupta is also the person responsible for all the success of the group company AR Thermosets Pvt Ltd, a road technology and services company which has remained at the forefront of the Indian road construction industry. Under Mr. Gupta’s mentorship ART became one of the pioneers in the adoption and aggregation of the advanced and eco-friendly cold mix technology for sustainable road maintenance and construction in India

Mr Gupta is Chairman of Aerospace & Defence Committee of CII NR and was the Vice Chairman of Roads & Highway Committee of ASSOCHAM. A true son of the soil, he remains committed to the state and to bring in the best manufacturing practices and establish world class manufacturing facilities in Uttar Pradesh, India.

A thorough family man, great orator, practical and worldly-wise, he enjoys golf, swimming and squash. Mr Neeraj Gupta is a passionate entrepreneur with a hands-on approach to developing and scaling the business Internationally. A people’s person, a keen observer, and a great networker he is constantly exploring newer ideas and horizons for growing the business.

He was instrumental in MKU’s foray into the armour business which he has successfully taken to over 100 countries. He personally supervised the successful acquisition and merger of a German armour company to diversify into armouring of land, air and naval platforms. MKU is today, one of the leading names in personal and platform armouring globally.

His constant quest for expansion and innovation has seen the company diversify into aerospace components and state of art electro-optics, where the technology for the latter was completely developed in-house from grounds-up. It today competes successfully with the leading names globally.

He strongly believes in and is committed to his vision of transforming MKU into a global defence manufacturing brand from India.

When he is not leading MKU into the future, he likes to travel, explore next gen technologies and read.

Sumit Khandelwal

Director – Armour Operations

Mr Sumit Khandelwal, Director Operations MKU Ltd is heading the Armour Business Operations. His rich experience of 3 decades in managing technical operations and manufacturing value-added specialty armour products helped MKU become the leader in the Armour industry within a short span of time. Mr Khandelwal is also leading EIS Electronics Business Unit, as ‘Managing Director’; one of the other prominent GKG group company.

Sumit Khandelwal’s 3 decades of rich experience and expertise in managing technical operations and manufacturing value-added specialty armour products were instrumental in establishing MKU operations, inculcating a culture of excellence, with high standards of governance. During his initial stage of career, he joined AR Polymers (group company of MKU) footwear unit and achieved grabbing a big order of footwear from defense and delivered in short span of time.

After achieving the first big order he set the other products of defense production and entire Supply Chain Management of MKU armour business.

He handled different portfolios in MKU and now Sumit Khandelwal as Director Operations heading the MKUs Armour Business Operations and advising other functions for smooth working in the organization with additional responsibility of ‘Managing Director’ of EIS Electronics Business Unit.

Manish Khandelwal

Director – Armour Technology

He is proficiently leading the MKU in-house research wing for last 25 years.

Manish’s 25 years of Armour product research experience with MKU he is involved in Innovating, experimenting and evolving cutting-edge new products in and around soldiers' protection has seen him through some groundbreaking products which were far ahead of their time. INSTAVEST being one such example, which with its unique and patented quick release system makes it stand out among other contemporary products.

Donning multiple hats, shuttling between roles and responsibilities as a Business Manager, Innovator and Tech Lead within the organization he has developed excellent skill sets vis-a-vis Techno-Commercial domain.

He has developed a vest which is the most advanced Quick Release vest for which patent has already been granted from US and Germany.

As a Business Manager, Application Developer, and Project Manager in a wide variety of business applications he has done many challenging projects. Particularly interested in designing using newer materials. Always interested in accepting challenges, as well as close interaction with the technical people.

After returning to India he started working in MKU and worked in different assignment on R&D, Sales & Marketing, ERP, Process Improvement, Automation with focused on moving organization to a technology & process driven organization to meet & sustain in competitive and cutting-edge technology environment.
